Cadent is looking for an experienced DevOps Manager alongside significant hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) including the strategy, design, development, and implementation of highly available projects in the cloud. The ideal candidate has managed teams focused on delivering pragmatic, modern, reliable DevOps solutions as well as have a firm grasp of emerging technologies, platforms, and applications, and ability to customize them to help our business become more secure and efficient. From day one, you’ll have an immediate impact on the day-to-day efficiency of our engineering department, and an ongoing impact on our overall growth as a company. What you will do: • Manage a team of DevOps engineers, ensuring career pathing goals are met whilst aiding them to produce scalable, reliable solutions • Build a strong relationship with the development, SRE and infrastructure teams to understand the software and its dependencies • Design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines across a broad range of technology stacks • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IAC) best practices • Develop and implement cost effective technical efforts to design, build, and deploy AWS applications at the direction of lead architects, including large-scale data processing, computationally intensive statistical modeling, and advanced analytics • Participate in all aspects of the software development life cycle for AWS solutions, including planning, requirements, development, testing, and quality assurance • Help troubleshoot incidents, identify root cause, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures • Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as required • Employ exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they affect business productivity Your background: • BS degree in Computer Science preferred or equivalent work experience. • 3+ years of experience in a DevOps role, along with significant exposure to AWS • 2+ years in a management position • Understanding of and experience with the five pillars of a well-architected framework • Proven ability to collaborative with multi-disciplinary teams of business analysts, developers, data scientists, and subject matter experts Extra credit: • AWS certifications are a plus • Experience working with Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jenkins and similar • Knowledge of web services, API, REST, etc • Containers and their scale, deployment and management • Driving automation through serverless architectures • Experience working in databases like SQL Server, Dynamo, Maria • Experience working in an Agile environment.
