Job Summary:
Provides management and administrative support to the Division of Hematology/Oncology and Gynecologic Oncology. Overall management of the Divisions including, facility, space, day-to-day operations, as well as the business results for the professional billing of the group(s). Overall management of the office sites, including day-to-day supervision of administrative support personnel, budget development, payroll preparation, approval and submission, facility/services planning. Act as the facility liaison for administration, physician/faculty, vendors and third parties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Anticipates problems that may have a major impact on the group. Analyzes problems and develops solutions for them. Presents solutions to the staff for discussion and decision-making.
Responsible for the handling of physician/faculty concerns and questions regarding administrative issues as well as professional billing.
Participates in the development of short-term and long-term goals for the group(s).
Develops and implements operating policies, protocols, procedures for divisions; Monitors compliance, holds Colleagues accountable, trains and coaches staff, and re-trains as necessary.
Oversee staff including hiring, work direction, work schedules, performance management, staff development, and corrective actions.
Assures that facility is well maintained and all maintenance issues are addressed and resolved in accordance to policies and procedures.
Ensure that monthly billing reconciliation is completed for inpatient and outpatient provider encounters in order to maximize division revenue.
Provide training and guidance to new and existing providers and fellows on the billing process and answer questions.
At all times, facilitate a professional, customer service-oriented atmosphere surrounding the Divisions of Hematology/Oncology and Gynecologic Oncology for benefit of physician/faculty, KCI staff members, WH, as well as visitors.
Preparation of reports, and presentations for meetings and conferences.
Participate in budget development. Oversee and coordinate certain budgeting and accounting related functions.
Supports interaction with physician leadership, Wayne State University, Wayne Health KCI staff and management. Disseminate information regarding departmental policies, procedures, practices and general information.
Participates in the planning and implementation of department initiatives, including computer systems, purchasing and the like.
Adhere to all WH and KCI policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Licensure/Certification, and Training:
Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Business Administration or other related field.
Minimum of three (3) years' work experience in a professional business setting required.
Experience in an academic healthcare environment preferred.
Supervisory or similar leadership experience preferred.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Ability to work with others in a team environment and independently with no supervision.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong analytic and problem solving skills.
Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, setting priorities in fast-paced environment.
Ability to manage large volumes of work and to meet strict deadlines.
Uses experience and professional judgment to plan and accomplish goals, while exercising independent judgment and discretion.
Ability to assume responsibility and exercise authority over assigned professionals and projects, including the ability to manage the performance of administrative staff.
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products.

Safety Requirements:
Compliance with Department Health and Safety policies and procedures

Working Conditions/Schedule:
40-hour work week, hours and days to be determined by the business needs of the department. Additional hours may be required
