Summary:

The Business Development Representative is responsible for generating new business opportunities by creating, qualifying and prospecting leads through a persistent process of engagement with potential customers.

Responsibilities:

Include but not limited to the following:

• Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements.
• Discovers and explores potential business opportunities.
• Research and identify new business opportunities- including new markets, growth areas, and trends.
• Explore new ways of reaching existing markets.
• Seek out the appropriate contacts within an organization using social media, websites, etc.
• Generate leads and cold call prospective customers via phone, e-mail and social media.
• Follow up with potential customers via telephone or correspondence as frequently as necessary to meet and surpass sales goals for the company.
• Communicate with current and potential customers and contacts using posts, newsletters, links on websites and social media accounts.
• Understand the needs of potential customers.
• Have a basic understanding of our products and services.
• Maintains, updates, and organizes files on all assigned customers.
• Manages activity within our CRM / ERP System (NetSuite).
• Attend seminars, conferences, trade shows and events where appropriate.
• Keep abreast of trends and changes in the industrial manufacturing segment.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and cooperate with others.
• Must be organized, motivated, and a self-starter.
• Must have the ability to work in an environment where frequent interruptions may occur.
• Must not become frustrated over words and phrases such as No, Not interested, not at this time.
