Speech-Language Pathologist, Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre

Provides speech and language services including assessment and treatment to children under 5 years of age with the aim of normalizing or enhancing the child’s communication. Responsibilities

Perform formal or informal assessments. Recheck/reassess as per program protocols. Provide regular, direct (group or individual) therapy. Demonstrate key aspects of treatment. Follow-up with families as required to implement, review, update or alter the treatment plan. Prepare treatment summaries and progress reports. Prepare discharge summary and consultation with appropriate parties. Initiate and follow-up transition process as required. Direct the work of the Communicative Disorders Assistant Participate in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of treatment, education, and health promotion programs and services for individuals, families and the community. Schedule clients. Forward appropriate post-encounter information to First Words program. S-LPs in bilingual positions are expected to work in both official languages, the volume of which may fluctuate from time to time – i.e. more Francophone clients than Anglophone. Qualifications

Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent Experience working with the preschool population
