Overview

Sunrun is looking for a process focused, detail oriented, and efficient Applications Engineer to join our team. This critical person will drive continuous process improvement and drive software enhancements in a highly collaborative and cross functional role. The Applications Engineer will be responsible for tackling internal tools management and development improvement projects, appropriating resources and meeting project deadlines to scope. Responsibilities may also include training and documentation related to tools development and release. KPIs revolve around successful completion and on time delivery. High level organizational, interpersonal and technical skills will be demanded for this position.

The work environment is fast-paced, fluid, and exciting on a fun, communicative team reliant on collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure tracking, response and expectations related to the handling of specific Design Engineering support requests, requests for enhancements, and systems related questions

  • Support project management of software implementations and improvements

  • Participate in process documentation from gathering feedback, researching and confirming information to produce final business process documents. Keep documentation resources current

  • Edit the technical writing of co-workers, managers or other associates

  • Identify and escalate concerns within key areas of project performance and report on lessons learned

  • Manage inbound requests from our internal customers, and other stakeholders

  • Combine various, and sometimes competing, interests into an efficient and optimized strategy & platform

  • Handle information requests and prepare regular & ad-hoc presentations

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of application development experience using Lisp, Macros, and VBA

  • 2+ years of experience with CAD Drafting (AutoCAD & DraftSight)

  • Project management experience

  • Process engineering and improvement experience

  • Documentation creation and management

  • Team mentality

  • Experience with AWS (entry-level)

  • Javascript, Typescript, C#, Python, and Google Apps Script are all nice to have, but not required

Physical Demands

  • Ability to perform normal office duties

  • Ability to operate office equipment including computers and determine accuracy of work

  • Ability to interact and participate in meetings

Starting salary/wage for this opportunity:

$65,640.49 to $87,520.65

Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility, which is based on company and individual performance, short and long term incentives, and program-specific awards. Sunrun provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
