Description: Candidates must be US Citizens and are required to work full-time at our project office; remote work is not available for this position. Project Overview: Join our prestigious engineering and construction firm with a rich history of delivering significant infrastructure projects worldwide, including massive energy and civil engineering ventures. We're making history at a key project in Washington, known as the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant. This unique facility will process and stabilize hazardous waste from past national defense activities, safeguarding the environment and surrounding communities. Situated at a scenic confluence of rivers and near mountain ranges, the project location offers abundant outdoor activities, sunny weather, and proximity to major urban centers. Full-Time In Office: This role is based in Richland, Washington, working a 9/80 schedule which allows for every other Friday off. Position Description: The successful candidate will support the Nuclear Safety Engineering Team, performing complex engineering assignments to aid in the design and construction of a critical facility. Position Responsibilities: Performing engineering document reviews. Developing safety evaluations for potential design changes. Supporting the development of changes to the Project Design Safety Approval. Basic Qualifications: Experience in DOE nuclear project safety basis development or commercial nuclear power plant licensing/analysis. Proficient in nuclear safety/engineering. Familiarity with Unreviewed Safety Question (USQ) or Safety Evaluation (SE) processes. Required Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, nuclear engineering, or related fields from an accredited institution, with at least 13 years of relevant experience. Minimum Qualifications: Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if onsite), and background check. Must obtain a Department of Energy badge for site access. Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with the design of WTP or Hanford facilities.
