Graduate Hall Coordinator
Job Description:
The Graduate Hall Coordinator (GHC) position is a part-time position in the Office of Residence Life. The GHC is responsible for the overall management of a residential community. The GHC is expected to follow all policies and provisions outlined in the university's Student Code of Conduct. The GHC position is a 12-month live-in assignment, renewable annually, with expectations of working 20-25 hours per week. This position is expected to work through all breaks so long as the university is open. This position also includes some weekend and evening work, in addition to the on-call responsibilities. The GHC may not hold any additional outside position or employment during the academic year, but may request academically-related positions, to include but not limited to, internship through the Assistant Director of Residence Life with final approval from the Associate Dean of Students/Director of Residence Life. The position assists the Office of Residence Life in the fulfillment of the mission of the University and the department to provide a safe, inclusive and comfortable living environment by striving to model Catholic virtues and building a community of respect, honesty, integrity, love and compassion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a role model, resource person and referral agent to resident students
  • Develop positive relationships with students in the residence halls while providing overall supervision and management of assigned residential area(s)
  • Supervise Sheridan Hall and Pangborn Hall
  • Be an active and present leader within the residence hall/area for which you are responsible
  • Work with individual students to resolve various residential issues such as roommate conflicts, facility concerns, etc.
  • Support students with academic, social, transitional and mental health concerns
  • Serve as a member of the Mount Cares committee
  • Facilitate room changes
  • Oversee residential programming model and manage programming budget for resident assistants
  • Serve as liaison with Physical Plant in terms of maintenance tracking
  • Work with individual students to assist and support them with academic, social and transitional concerns
  • Conduct low-level student conduct conferences with students who have violated the Code of Student Conduct as assigned by the Associate Dean of Students/Director of Residence Life or designee
  • Supervise approximately 12-15 Resident Assistants
  • Participate and assist in supervision of major events held by the University and/or the Office of Campus Activities such as: New Student Orientation, Welcome Week and others as assigned
  • Develop positive collaborative relationships with departments, including Physical Plant, Public Safety, Dinning Services, the Wellness Center, Campus Ministry, Recreation Services, Accounting & Financial Affairs
  • Participate in professional development opportunities
  • Assist with hall opening and closing processes per AD direction
  • Be an active participant in the planning and execution of the RA training and RA selection programs
  • Serve in the On-Call rotation as scheduled
  • Other duties as assigned

The Graduate Hall Coordinator position requires a demonstrated commitment to the Catholic, liberal arts mission of the University.

REMUNERATION: The position includes an on-campus apartment. Utilities are included with the apartment. This is a stipend position with 200 meal swipes per semester and is eligible for the full University benefit package.

Salary/Benefits
  • A stipend of $10,000
  • 15-20 hours per week for 12 months
