Branch Accounting Coordinator

An opportunity exists to join our dynamic and experienced team in Columbus as an Accounting Coordinator. We are looking for a reliable and precise professional who is an enthusiastic, motivated and customer focused team player to join us.

To be successful, you will need excellent communication skills and an ability to plan and organize your time effectively.

Reporting to the Branch Manager and Financial Controller, your primary areas of focus will be:

Accounts Receivable:

  • Collection calls and correspondence in a fast-paced, goal-oriented collections department
  • Providing customer service and assistance to customers and branches by reviewing credit applications, credit memos, resolving customer discrepancies and short payments.
  • Enlisting the help of the sales, operations, and management team when necessary to accelerate the collections process
  • Monitor branch action boards daily to ensure timely and compliant billing, collaborate with operations teams to ensure pending items are actioned
  • Reconcile accounting system to customer records and follow up
  • Investigate root cause of issues and educate operations team on how to keep records accurate

Accounts Payable:

  • Protect the business from overpayments by reviewing accruals and invoices for accuracy, clarify any questionable invoice items
  • Assemble and route weekly invoices for approval and payment
  • Practice effective monitoring, vendor statement reconciliations to ensure payments are made to suppliers within 30 days
  • Reconcile accounting system to supplier records and follow up on actionable items
  • Investigate root cause of issues and educate operations team on how to keep records accurate

  • Advanced Excel skills required
  • Ability to compile financial reports that are clear and concise
  • Ability to proactively identify and solve issues as they occur
  • A positive can-do attitude
  • Can work well within a team setting as well as individually
  • Associated Degree in Accounting or Business Administration Preferred
