Beacon Communities is looking for a qualified

Payroll Specialist

to join our Corporate Human Resources team based out of Boston, Massachusetts The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing payroll and benefit-related transactions including internal reporting, and external compliance reporting. To be successful, a candidate should have experience in payroll processing, be able to work independently with limited supervision, and have excellent written and oral communication skills. Responsibilities: Manage the end-to-end payroll process for multi-state weekly and bi-weekly payrolls, keeping with federal and state taxation, wage and hour and applicable regulations. Investigate, validate, and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely and professional manner. Audit employee changes such as deductions, garnishments, pay rate changes, withholding changes, terminations, etc. Review timecard data for completion and compliance with state, local and company level work rules and supervisory approvals. Stay updated on the latest payroll and tax regulations and provide recommendations for changes and best-practice for company processes. Manage relevant payroll processes, including quarterly adjustments and year-end W2 reports. Manage the garnishment life cycle for all impacted employees following federal & state regulations. Provide information for various audits including but not limited to annual Company audit and various benefit plan audits. Complete the employee verifications process communicating and coordinating with all necessary stake holders. Run and analyze ad-hoc reporting for system improvement and data accuracy. Provide support for payroll and benefit related inquiries. Prepare weekly flexible spending and commuter funding reports. Prepare weekly 401(k) and Collective Bargaining employee contributions reports and ensure funding. • Run benefit deduction related reports as needed. Interface with benefits administrator to ensure timely and accurate benefit deductions, including benefit arrears calculations. Manage confidential information in a professional manner. Collaborate with colleagues in HR to maintain the integrity and confidentiality of employee data. What Success Looks Like: Success in this position means the Payroll Specialist can be relied upon for timely and accurate data reporting and analysis. The Payroll Specialist communicates effectively with other members of the HR Team and prioritizes assignments. The Payroll Specialist is curious and growth-oriented, constantly seeking to absorb knowledge and acquire experience. Minimum Qualifications: Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent people skills and a true customer service orientation towards employees and managers. Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet weekly transmitting deadlines. Absolute integrity, discretion, and sensitivity to confidential company and employee information. Excellent organization, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills. Knowledge using Dayforce and experience in government regulations related to FLSA, FMLA, and other State and Federal regulations a plus. Must be able to prioritize, problem solve and operate independently and on a team in a deadline driven environment. Must have ability to interact with managers and employees at all levels in the organization. Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree required. At least 5 years payroll processing experience Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), preferred Beacon Communities LLC seeks a diverse pool of candidates.
