DIRECTOR OF SALES POSITION SUMMARY The Director of Sales will lead the organization’s sales and business development function. S/he will be responsible for building upon existing key accounts, securing new opportunities, leading a passionate team, and developing and implementing data-driven sales strategies to achieve company targets. The Director of Sales will evaluate current systems and processes and implement improvements as needed to facilitate future growth. Our client is seeking a driven and hands-on individual who has a genuine passion for sales and connecting with customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES Define and implement strategies and processes that will improve the Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service operations. Create a sales plan and strategy that ensures the organization’s growth goals are achieved. Serve as a voice of the organization by being forward-facing with customers to drive new relationships and build upon key accounts. Provide outstanding direction, leadership, and coaching to the sales team and ensure the team has the required information and resources to effectively drive interest and sales for company products. Optimize existing sales territories, while also establishing new geographic sales territories. Develop quarterly, monthly, and weekly plans designed to maximize customer relationships and improve sales in assigned territories. Provide data-driven sales forecasts, both short-term and long-term. Report on meaningful variances from the forecast and impact to future periods. Collaborate internally with key stakeholders to ensure a world-class customer experience, along with accurate and profitable quoting. Drive a relentless pursuit to ensure all orders are delivered on time and within budget. Respond in a timely manner to customer inquiries and issues. Act as a problem solver and trusted resource. Lead negotiations for future contracts, bids, and any pricing issues related to raw material cost increases. In partnership with the senior leadership team, develop a marketing plan that utilizes all relevant marketing tools and tactics. Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings to enhance visibility and network with potential partners.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE An undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Manufacturing, or related field. 10+ years of industrial, manufacturing, or environmental services sales experience, with 5+ years in a sales leadership role. Additional marketing experience is highly preferred. A track record of achieving growth momentum in a sales environment. Proven experience growing and training a successful and dynamic team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
