This position is responsible for the set-up of materials, equipment, machine operation and packaging of WIP and finished goods for delivery to the warehouses. The Production Supervisor must direct and lead a team of hourly team members and foster and promote continuous improvement and a positive work environment. Other responsibilities include:Oversee the production process looking for ways to improve efficiencies, meeting all production quotas and deadlines.Assign work, analyze productivity, workflow, methods and procedures, making recommendations to management as appropriate. Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action. Administer discipline, corrective action and coaching as needed. Assist in the resolution of any employee disputes or grievances.Enforce all company policies and plant rules, to include but not limited to problem solving, development & implementation of standard operating procedures. Maintains working relationship with the union by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.Completes production labor schedule by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules to minimize OT; resolving problems; reporting results of the shift production daily.Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product and safety environment in the workplace.Responsible for recognizing, reporting and troubleshooting food safety and/or quality issues. Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines as needed.Important Details: This is a full-time permanent role with responsibilities across multiple shifts which operate Monday - Friday with occasional overtime on Saturday and/or Sunday.About You:You'll fit right in if you have:Bachelor's Degree or comparable experience is requiredMinimum of three (3) years Supervisory experience; experience in a union environment preferred. Prior experience in a food manufacturing environment.Ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization through effective communication.Ability to perform with excellent skills in analytical reasoning.Ability to foster a workplace of collaboration and positive reinforcement for all employees.Ability to recognize and support skills development of employees in the department.The supervisor must have the skills to adapt to changes in deadlines and the nature of the assignments.Knowledge of MS Office products.SAP preferred.Proficient use of computer programs and software.Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
