The City of Spearfish is offering a Sign-On Bonus of $4,000 for communications officers. The City of

Spearfish will pay 50% of the Sign-On Bonus no later than the first scheduled payroll date after the employee’s hire date with the remainder of the Sign-On Bonus paid on the first scheduled payroll date after the employee’s successful completion of the in-training period and requirements outlined in the position description. Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for performing emergency and non-emergency communications functions. Requirements:

Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.

Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.

Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of South Dakota

for the type of vehicle or equipment operated. Possession of or ability to readily obtain NCIC certification. Possession of or ability to readily obtain emergency medical dispatch certification. Possession of or ability to readily obtain South Dakota Law Enforcement Telecommunicator certification. How to Apply:
