Custodial Department Manager

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Custodial Department Manager. This position is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of custodial services to ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment for multiple buildings. This candidate will assign tasks, manage custodial staff, and ensure that all cleaning operations meet established standards. This role requires effective communication, leadership, and the ability manage people respectfully and productively.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervision & Training: Assign work to, supervise, train, instruct, and evaluate all lead custodians and custodial crew members.
Operational Management: Develop and implement cleaning strategies, staffing levels, and techniques to achieve desired quality performance standards. Coordinate and inspect custodial services to ensure standards are met, adjusting schedules as necessary.
Compliance & Quality Control**: Ensure custodial staff adhere to established procedures, maintain compliance, and satisfactorily complete assigned tasks. Maintain employee performance records and training documentation.
Event Support: Stay informed of company events, communicate effectively with relevant departments, and oversee event setup and takedown, including moving furniture and other necessary tasks.
Facility Maintenance: Oversee snow removal from building entrances and steps, and report building deficiencies needing repair by creating work requests.
Policy Enforcement & HR Management: Enforce college policies, conduct staff performance reviews, address performance concerns, and participate in hiring decisions in compliance with HR guidelines.
Logistics Coordination: Create equipment use schedules, ensure timely delivery of cleaning supplies, and manage custodial closets.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED.

Minimum of three years of related experience, including at least one year of supervisory experience.
Valid driver’s license.

This role may require shift work, being on-call, and irregular work schedules. The Custodial Supervisor must maintain a positive and constructive attitude in all interactions.

Work Schedule- Mon-Fri 4pm-12:30am

Wages: $22-$28 DOE
