We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Locums Hospitalist Physician to provide exceptional inpatient care at our facility in Dixon, Illinois. As the hospitalist, you will be responsible for the comprehensive clinical management of patients admitted to the hospital. You will serve as the primary point of contact for patients, families, and the healthcare team, coordinating care and treatment throughout the patient's hospital stay to ensure the highest quality of care.

As a Locums Hospitalist Physician, you will oversee the clinical management of admitted patients, ensuring optimal treatment plans and serving as the primary physician for patient admissions, as ED physicians do not have admitting privileges. In this role, you will manage all floor codes with support from ED physicians as needed and collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver high-quality care, utilizing eICU backup for patients in the open ICU setting. Additionally, you will communicate effectively with patients and their families to provide updates and ensure a patient-centered approach to care. This position does not involve performing procedures.

Requirements
  • Must hold a valid and active Illinois medical license (DO or MD).
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  • Certifications in ACLS and BLS are required.
  • Prior experience in hospitalist medicine is preferred.
