Sr. Inventory Analyst

The Senior Inventory Analyst is responsible for accuracy of inventory costs across all facilities within Wausau Supply. The successful candidate will excel in extracting strategic insights from complex data, guiding decision-making, and supporting company goals by working with various departments.
Responsibilities:
Duties to include (not limited to):
Weekly review of production order variances to identify unusual variances and report root cause
Post monthly journal entries for closing and other month end tasks
Responsible for maintenance of inventory costs at all facilities
Assist in the preparation and application of annual overhead rate calculations
Assist with quotations for new products or process improvements supporting the business
Prepare and monitor manufacturing production efficiencies as well as spending performances
Perform variance analyses and reports as requested by management, manufacturing or other departments
Verify accuracy of costs of newly created items
Key strategic projects working with cross functional business teams
Monitor items to insure all have costs thru exception reporting
Monitor location cycle counts for accuracy and completion
Prepare inventory workpapers both monthly and year-end
Investigate and resolve issues with item costs identified by other departments
Assist in the annual operating budget forecasts
Qualifications:
A Senior Inventory Analyst will possess and/or demonstrate the ability to:
Exhibit good attendance and stability in the work place
Interact and communicate with customers, suppliers and co-workers in a clear and professional manner
Instill self-motivation and collaboration
Comply with strict adherence to deadlines
Display attention to detail, proficient writing, verbal and organizational skills
Knowledge, practice and enforce good manufacturing and safety practices
Education / Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, preferred
Working knowledge of cost accounting and cost analysis, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft tools
Experience with ERP costing systems desired
Understanding of GAAP accounting processes and procedures
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
Reports to: Director of Finance
