Overview:
Element has an opportunity for a Metallurgy Technician whose primary responsibility is to perform routine preparation of metallographic samples for metallurgical evaluation, perform hardness and small-scale corrosion testing in order to facilitate metallurgy operations in a laboratory setting.

Salary: $20/hr-$25/hr

Varied Shifts - $1 shift diff - 2nd shift / $2 shift diff for 3rd shift

 

Responsibilities:
Perform metallographic, physical, and corrosion evaluations in accordance with company goals, quality system, and test procedures/methods

Collaborate with peers on proper preparation of materials and test methodology

Participate in team-oriented discussions to learn about Metallurgical topics

Perform technical review of metallographic evaluations

Interpret specifications/standards to ensure correct application to testing

Review metallurgical test results for accuracy, completeness, and consistency to specification requirements

Maintain qualifications to local procedures

This is a fast-paced environment, and we need someone who is proactive, self-motivated and a team player. The person for this role will be a specialist in their field, respected by all who they work with, keen to learn and enthusiastic in the face of challenge. You will:

Recent graduate of/or studying Metallurgy or related discipline

0 - 2 years of experience working in a laboratory in the field of metallurgy testing

Good knowledge on international standards and codes

Excellent report writing skill

Good communication skills

Self-motivated team playing with excellent organizational and communication skills
