Overview:
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting with overall management of glassware’s operation to include oversight of staff as appropriate, glass sterilization, glassware’s receiving and distribution process and ensuring contract requirements are met in a professional manner and in keeping with the GGW mission and values. This position is responsible and will be held accountable for behaving in accordance with divisional and organizational RISE values and expectations.

Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Schedules staff, work assignments, and ensures appropriate staffing levels.

Completes and submits assigned paperwork to include inventory sheets.

Supervises workers (as appropriate) and makes recommendations for training, disciplinary action, promotion, hiring and firing.

Assist with glassware sterilization, collection and distribution process.

Must have excellent working knowledge of all machinery used in sterilization process.

Assists with staff training ensuring staff obtain appropriate competency levels at their particular work tasks.

Assists with monitoring of the supply budget.

Assists with inventory control and maintaining proper levels of supplies.

Performs regular inspections of all areas where GGW’s services are performed. Works closely with Quality Control Inspectors to ensure a safe and clean job site.

Attends management training sessions and monthly manager meetings at headquarters.

Performs other duties as assigned by upper management.

 

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Ensures that equipment and supplies are maintained in clean and working condition.

Maintains good working relationship with the building’s COTR and provides excellent customer service to employees and clients.

Works closely with Quality Control Inspectors to ensure a safe and clean job site.

Provides training to staff.

Ensures GGW’s safety procedures are enforced at the job site.

Attends scheduled division meetings.

Appropriately handles employee issues on site as per GGW’s Employee Handbook.

 

 

Supervisory Responsibility:

 

This position has supervisory responsibility for the glassware workers, lead workers and supervisors (as applicable).

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:

 

High School Diploma or equivalent plus at least two years previous experience in a related field and one year supervisory experience. A minimum of seven years related specialized experience may be considered in lieu of the formal education requirements.

Comprehensive understanding of glassware’s operations or related transferable experience, contracting and knowledge of management principles.

Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety procedures and precautions pertaining to glassware’s operations or related operation.

Good writing and verbal communication.

Ability to supervise groups of skilled and unskilled workers.

Ability to communicate effectively with individuals with and without disabilities.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

Two years of supervisory experience.

Working knowledge of JWOD law and NISH requirements.

Prior experience supervising and working with employees with disabilities.
