Overview:
Gallagher Bassett has a unique opportunity for a Director, Strategic Initiatives.

Responsibilities:
Position Summary:

Overall responsibility for the improvement of operating processes in use throughout the organization and its divisions. Responsible for overseeing the most significant projects (e.g., strategic change management, new business and product initiatives, process re-engineering, establishment of control procedures) on a firm-wide scale. Sometimes referred to as the internal consultant, typically works on multi-disciplinary projects and require a broad knowledge of the firm and its key functions. This incumbent may also be responsible for the tools and methods of six sigma, including DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control), DFSS (Design for Six Sigma), Process Management, Lean and Project Selection. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Develops and maintains specific subject expertise and advises businesses management, and relevant third parties.  

Has regular contact among peers within the firm and externally, including regulators and professional organizations.  

Provides advice to internal clients on the implications of business trends, issues, operating environment changes and firm or business unit strategy.

Participates in the strategic planning process to integrate quality improvements with the overall business plan.  

Provides overall direction and guidance to assigned project personnel. 

Qualifications:
Bachelors’ degree required with 10+ years of relevant experience

Experience within the insurance industry or management consulting industry

Proven experience in planning and executing high impact, cross functional initiatives including: Project definition, data analysis / solution development, road mapping and change management

Proven experience in assessing data driven approaches to solutions

Ability to negotiate and influence relevant outcomes with senior leaders across the organization

Experience managing a team

Experience within the claims industry is preferred
