Senior Day Porter

 

Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Day Porter with expertise in building maintenance to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in high-rise buildings and will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and overall maintenance of the property during daytime hours.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Wipe excess water off vanities, empty trash and restock paper supplies throughout restrooms.

Check/maintain all restroom hardware for proper operation

Check/maintain all restrooms and clean toilets as needed

Dust all restroom surfaces, including partitions and furniture as required

Clean/polish all wood, metal and glass finishes

Vacuum and mop all restroom, lobby and common area floors as necessary

Clean common area wall finishes

Pick up trash throughout exterior grounds, sweep building entranceways and empty ash/trash receptacles as necessary.

Empty trash throughout common areas and tenant spaces as may be required during the day.

Clean all building entranceway glass

Assist in snow removal services at building entryway as necessary

Assume additional duties as delegated by management

Coordination and communications with Engineering / Maintenance Staff 

Coordination and communications with tenants, customers and building occupants

Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and company directives as relates to building operations and practice safe work habits.

Be courteous, neat, clean, and in proper uniform; always representing the Company in a professional, moral, and ethical manner.

Respond to, prioritize, and complete assigned work orders via the MRI Workspeed (work order tracking system)

Education, Experience and Skills Required

2-5 years prior experience (janitorial and/or maintenance).  Experience in commercial office arena preferred.

Ability to work independently and be responsive to frequent schedule changes.

Ability to respond to tenant calls as needed

Ability to resolve customer issues

Must have prior experience with plumbing & electrical, painting and drywall repairs

Must possess excellent communication skills

Must be able to prioritize tasks and complete duties timely

Must have knowledge of safety protocols related to commercial buildings

Must have basic understanding of computer systems and/or work order system

Prefer management/team experience- leadership in janitorial a plus

Be courteous, neat, clean, and in proper uniform

Will require driving between various building

Must be able to prioritize tasks and complete duties in a timely manner

Physical Demand Requirements

Physical requirements include climbing ladders, stooping, standing, bending, stretching and regularly lifting 50 pounds or more
