Senior Manager, Business Practice, Anesthesiology

JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position will provides strategic, analytic, and project support for physician practice acquisitions.
They will manage the business development function as well as analytical work and financial projections associated with physician practice acquisitions.
Position is responsible for identifying and profiling the performance of potential practices, supporting relationship development and implementations, and overseeing a significant portion of the due diligence process.
They will have a role in establishing practice relations, management of data acquisition and analysis as well as development of key deliverables such as pro-formas, term sheets, and board-level management recommendations.
Financial Analysis: Gathers, analyzes, prepares and summarizes recommendations for financial plans, capital investment, acquisition activity, future performance and operating forecasts. Performs economic research and studies in the areas of revenue, expected reimbursement, rates of return, net present value, accounts receivables, reserves, depreciations, working capital requirements, investment opportunities, investment performance and impact of governmental requirements. Builds forecasting models and evaluates the pro-forma impact of merger on actual and forecasted levels. Develops financial plans, forecasts and financial models for new/future capital expenditures. Provides analysis of revenue capture, expected reimbursement, receivables, cash, cycle times, cost to collect, and other important indicators within the revenue cycle. Assists in the creation of other materials such as term sheets, management recommendations and other associated documents related to the transaction. Requires a necessary understanding of the ESA approval process.
Management and Supervision: Manages and oversees assigned staff to accomplish goals and directives. Provides performance feedback and addresses human resource related issues as needed.
Market Intelligence/Assessment: Conducts market assessments, volume and financial projections, clinical program development and business development planning that lead to the identification of growth opportunities and helps establish recommended courses of action. Works closely with those parties tasked to identify, track, and manage potential opportunities. Works with marketing and other personnel in the acquisition of data, information and intelligence as needed on targeted practices, their markets and specific competitors. Obtains the means to properly comprehend practice patterns and patient trends that are critical to the successful creation of pro-forma and other financial materials. Assists in the preparation of an annual strategic plan.
Practice Acquisition Negotiations: In collaboration with ESA Leadership, facilitates the understanding and approval of all physician practice contractual agreements (employment, operating, etc.). Properly obtains all information related to internal cost structures, outside interests, debts and obligations, and all other pertinent materials important to the due diligence process. Participates in the evaluation and due diligence process as a member of the transaction / acquisition team.
Professional Development: Works with manager to formulate plan for professional development. Attends educational in-services as appropriate. Participates in professional activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of current trends, practices, and developments.
Relationship Management: Engages and communicates clearly and consistently with physicians and practice leaders; maintains solid working relationships. Works closely with operational and implementation teams to manage physician practice expectations in the acquisition/transaction process. Serves as intermediary between physician practices and ESA Finance/Accounting group. Able to partner with senior leadership in communicating and maintaining ongoing dialogue during the entire acquisition process.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, healthcare administration or related field required.
MBA or other related Masters degree strongly preferred.
3-5 years healthcare related experience in financial accounting, business finance, planning or related experience required;
Minimum requirement of 2 years supervisory/manager experience.
Prior experience in a physician practice operational setting and/or significant understanding of physician practice data, workflows and service line deliveries preferred.
Experience in business modeling and financial analysis to drive business decisions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 1-10 lbs 0-33% of the work day (occasionally), negligible 34-66% of the workday (frequently), negligible 67-100% of the workday (constantly). Lifting 10 lbs max, carrying of small articles such as dockets, ledgers, files, small tools, occasional standing & walking, frequent sitting, close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.

Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure, Bio-hazardous waste. chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors, communicable diseases, electrical shock, floor surfaces, hot/cold temperatures, indoor/outdoor conditions, latex, lighting patient care/handling injuries, radiation, shift work, travel may be required, use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
