Unit Description:
Sodexo has an exciting opportunity for a Vice President of Human Resources to provide strategic leadership and operational excellence within our Campus Segment. The role will be reporting to North America’s Chief Human Resources Officer.  

 

This position is remote-based, and the ideal candidate resides within the Eastern or Central Time Zones. Must be willing to travel 30% of the time.

As the Vice President of Human Resources, you will support business growth and client retention through strategic and operational people initiatives, foster positive employee relations, cultivate a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture, and deliver a best-in-class employee experience.  

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 HR Business Partnering Strategy and Executive Advisory: Define and drive the development and delivery of HRBP strategies tailored to the respective business groups. Elevate HR value-added service to the business through strategic and proactive engagement, delivering HR solutions and services that drive business and success. Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leaders, providing valuable insights and expert guidance on HR matters, best practices, and strategic decision-making. Foster a strategic HR partnership and excellence culture, ensuring alignment between HR strategies and business objectives. 

Talent Management and Development: Assess trends and patterns in talent needs assessments, providing strategic guidance to the HR and Segment leadership teams, including organizational capability and capacity analysis—Spearhead innovative initiatives to address business challenges and talent developmental needs. Ensure seamless alignment and partnership of HR COEs with business strategy for successful strategic planning and optimizing workforce capabilities, culture, and experience. 

Strategic Oversight of HR Processes and Leadership: Provide high-level oversight and strategic guidance in collaboration with Segment leadership teams to ensure the seamless delivery of HR processes and practices, including talent planning and development, compensation planning, HR operations, and compliance, employee relations and performance management, culture and experience, etc. Emphasize efficiency and effectiveness in process management. Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the HRBP team spanning diverse groups and geographical locations in the business. 

Strategic Initiatives: Champion strategic initiatives related to HR processes and/or operations leveraging best practice research and analysis, data and metrics, and trends to drive informed decision-making, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. Provide strategic guidance and foster collaboration and synergy across the organization.  

Team Leadership and Development: Provide strong leadership and mentorship to cultivate a high-performing and collaborative HRBP team supporting the business. Create and maintain an environment conducive to individual growth and professional development, equity and inclusion, and excellence in partnership aligning with organizational objectives and resources. 

Required Experience and Qualifications:  

Must have at least ten (10) years of senior HR leadership experience within a large, complex, and matrixed organization – a minimum of three (3) years of experience in a VP-level HR position is preferred 

Must possess deep subject matter expertise across a range of HR disciplines, particularly (although not limited to) labor relations, employee relations, high-velocity recruitment, leadership and development, and organizational development 

Strong business acumen with solid financial literacy and project management experience 

Proven success in managing a highly competent HR team at a senior level in a complex, matrixed organization characterized by a high regard for empowering others, a results orientation, and an engaged workforce; and is tenacious and accountable in driving results 

Adept at balancing big-picture thinking with an understanding of how much change an organization is capable of handling to create realistic goals and implementation plans that are achievable and successful 

Demonstrated ability to develop and lead talent strategies aligned to key business priorities 

Track record of serving as a trusted business partner, challenging with humility, and maintaining complete discretion regarding sensitive employee information 

Ability to cultivate and foster a highly collaborative and solution-minded environment with a strong service spirit
