Job Description

Korsail Energy is seeking an Interconnection/Project Development Engineer to oversee the technical aspects of our solar and storage projects. This position is ideal for candidates with a utility or consulting background who have considerable experience managing the design and construction of energy projects.

Requirements

The Project Development Engineer will support the development of greenfield solar and storage projects from initial feasibility studies, through preliminary design and interconnection, and on to commercial operation. You will have a significant amount of responsibility in this role and will also have significant room for growth in the company.

We are seeking an individual with 3+ years of utility scale solar project development experience. Candidates should also be detail-oriented, proactive, supportive, and team-oriented.

This position requires an electrical, civil, or other relevant engineering degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.

An advanced degree in a business (MBA) or engineering discipline is a plus.

3 or more years of experience in the renewable energy industry.

Experience with electrical collection system designs.

Experience in electrical grid interconnections including single line design, permit applications, compliance with utility standards and electrical codes, etc.

Experience with detailed design activities for renewable energy projects.

Excellent verbal/written communication skills.

Experience writing technical reports and proposals.

Strong interpersonal, project planning, and leadership skills.

Experience with owner’s engineering activities during renewable energy project execution is a plus.

Experience with battery energy storage system designs and/or energy management system designs is a plus.

The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $120,000 and $150,000/Annual; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and Korsail Energy reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Korsail Energy or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
