Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Sr. Geotechnical Engineer to serve as a technical leader on transportation projects with the focus on design to work out of any of our New York Metro offices: Clifton, NJ; Piscataway, NJ or New York, NY.

This role is available immediately.

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

Lead Geotechnical Engineer on projects responsible for overseeing design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans and technical specifications for assigned projects.

Prepare subsurface exploration programs, laboratory assignments and preparing geotechnical reports.

Evaluate ground conditions and understand their impacts on design and construction.

Provide guidance to entry level Engineers and other staff to bring completion to projects.

Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.

Independently perform all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.

Lead/manage geotechnical engineering investigations.

Perform pile analysis, slope stability, settlement analysis, ground improvements and seepage analysis.

Utilize computer software programs, such as: APILE, LPILE, GROUP, SEEPW, SLOPEW and GRLWEAP.

Prepare geotechnical engineering reports and construction documents.

This position will work both independently and in teams.

Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team.

Provide specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.

Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.

Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings.

Will work with and coordinate staff to meet project needs and schedule.

Meet with Clients.
