Role Description The Business Development Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Chicago Area. This position is responsible for identifying and qualifying new commercial and industrial prospects, nurturing a pipeline of opportunities, and closing sales for energy efficiency and optimization projects. Day-to-day activities include conducting market research, developing outreach strategies, meeting with prospective clients, and presenting Quantix Energy’s solutions to decisionmakers. The role involves collaborating with technical and project teams to prepare proposals, pricing, and scopes of work that align with client objectives. The Business Development Manager will also maintain CRM records, track performance against sales targets, and represent Quantix Energy at industry events, networking functions, and client meetings.
Qualifications
• Business development and sales skills, including prospecting, lead qualification, and relationship management in B2B environments.
• Experience with energy services, building performance, or related fields such as lighting retrofits, building optimization, or sustainability solutions.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities, with skill in explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influencing decisionmakers.
• Analytical and strategic thinking skills, including market research, opportunity analysis, and development of go-to-market or account strategies.
• Proficiency with CRM tools and basic office software (e.g., spreadsheets, presentations, email) to manage pipelines, forecasts, and client communications.
• Ability to work on-site, travel locally within the Greater Chicago Area for client meetings, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Relevant experience in commercial or industrial energy projects, ESCO environments, or building services; prior experience closing complex solutions is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, sustainability, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
