PRIMARY FUNCTION: As an SCCPSS District Lead Roofer you will install, maintain, inspect, and repair Commercial, Industrial and residential roof systems at the proper time in the construction process.REPORTS TO: Director, Maintenance (thru the Supervisor)SALARY SCHEDULE: 107WORK DAYS: 250REQUIREMENTS:1. These include:Built up with AggregateBuilt up with Modified CapDrainageEPDMWSHPFlashing / Roof JacksFlat roof systemGeneral roof systemMetal - R PanelMetal - Standing SeamMetal - TrapezoidalPenetrationsShingle 3 - TabShingle ArchitecturalShingle MetalSingle Ply KEESingle Ply PVCSingle Ply TPOSprayed Urethane FoamTile / Wood / Shingle RoofsAbility to draw diagrams and schematics to clarify design details and functional criteria of roof systemsAbility to read and understand instructions, technical manuals, and have a base knowledge of all roofs systemsDiscuss layout and installation procedures and problems with contractorsAbility to instruct and supervise other personnelMATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT OPERATING KNOWLEDGE:Thorough knowledge of all Construction and roofing codes, and safe use of power tools and trade hand toolsMust demonstrate proficiency in area of knowledge of commercial and residential roofsOperating knowledge of and experience with personal computers and peripheralsOperating knowledge of roof repair and maintenance equipment and efficient use of materials and tools required for hirebility to instruct and supervise other personnelOperating knowledge of roof repair and maintenance equipment and efficient use of materials and tools required for hirePreferred: State License: Contactors LicenseESSENTIAL DUTIES:Assist with construction and remodel plan reviews of upcoming projectsAbility to use the SchoolDude or comparable work order systemAbility to verify work has been complete and work orders are closed out properlyAbility to estimate, layout, and provide material selection for projectsAbility to works with outside vendors, engineers, contractors, and consultants on projects commercial and residential roof systems on all facilitiesSupport the Director of Maintenance with Department goals and visions and help implement themProvide excellent customer service to create a comfortable and safe environmentPerform regular inspections to identify roof and gutter defects and replacementsMaintain inventory control of roofing material(s) and toolsMaintain documentations of roof installation and maintenance proceduresOversee inspections for contractor performed work in renovations and new construction projectsResponsible for identifying, estimating, and prioritizing trade related improvements for district propertiesAbility to manage multiple prioritiesAbility to work effectively in a service oriented environment subject to frequently changes in prioritiesAbility to diffuse and manage volatile and stressful situationsAbility to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptionsPersonal computer and keyboarding skillsAbility to perform math computations needed in the roofing tradeAbility and willingness to be on call and/or respond to callsAbility to promote and follow all Board of Education policies as well as building and department proceduresAbility to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgroundsIdentify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working with manufacturers or field representatives as necessary to procure replacement partsAbility to read blueprints, schematic drawings, or engineering instructions for roofing projectsAbility to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administratorMust have a valid Ga driver's licenseMust be able to lift 50 lbs.Must be able to work from a ladderAny other duties as assigned.Ability to work overtime when asked.Must pass a drug test and background checkTERMS OF EMPLOYMENTIncumbents will be considered "at will." Appropriate pay will be determined based on the Grade 11 of the classified hourly pay scale and allowable experience as determined by Human Resources. This position is considered to be "essential personnel, critical staff" when there is an event that creates security challenges or disruptions to district operations. This position may be required to work during identified periods of an emergency as defined in Policy Regulation GBRB-R, Title: Professional Personnel Time Schedules. The work calendar will be 250 days.
