PRIMARY FUNCTION: This position is responsible for the receipt, storage, and distribution of supplies and materials for assigned departments. This role ensures accurate inventory management and supports operational efficiency across maintenance functions

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate degree or Journeyman equivalent technical certifications or vocational licenses in electronic control systems
  • Formal training as an electrician or similar / equivalent in years of journeyman level experience above 10 years in electrical field of study.

  • Experience, Skill, and Certification:

  • Strong knowledge of IP camera systems, fire alarms, intercoms, security systems, and HVAC systems, including design, installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair.

  • Ability to draw and interpret diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and engineering instructions to clarify design details and functional criteria.
  • Proficient in adjusting, calibrating, aligning, and modifying circuitry and components, and recording performance effects.
  • Thorough understanding of electrical and low-voltage codes, OSHA safety standards, and safe use of power and hand tools.
  • Skilled in assembling, installing, and maintaining electronic systems and components based on technical specifications.
  • Ability to discuss layout and installation procedures with contractors and collaborate effectively with vendors, engineers, and consultants.
  • Capable of instructing and supervising technical personnel in system installation and maintenance.
  • Proficient in maintaining accurate documentation of system procedures and managing inventory of tools and components.
  • Operating knowledge of personal computers and peripherals for diagnostics, documentation, and communication.
  • Ability to identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, including coordination with manufacturers or field representatives.
  • Capable of performing trade-related mathematical computations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Assist in reviewing construction and renovation plans related to fire alarms, intercoms, security, IP camera, and HVAC systems.
  • Coordinate with vendors, engineers, contractors, and consultants to ensure proper installation and integration of electronic systems across all facilities.
  • Install, maintain, and repair electronic systems and equipment, including IP cameras, fire alarms, intercoms, and security systems.
  • Perform system testing, inspections, and diagnostics to ensure functionality, safety, and compliance.
  • Safely make cable and wiring connections and assemble systems based on technical specifications and schematics.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of installations, repairs, and maintenance procedures.
  • Monitor inventory and ensure availability of necessary electronic components and tools.
  • Oversee contractor work during renovations and new construction projects to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Identify, estimate, and prioritize trade-related improvements for district properties.
  • Provide excellent customer service to support a safe and comfortable learning environment.
  • Support departmental goals and initiatives under the direction of the Director of Maintenance.
  • Respond to emergency calls and be available for on-call duties outside of regular work hours.
  • Operate personal computers for documentation and communication; perform basic math computations related to the trade.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, report unsafe conditions, and use appropriate safety equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
