Schedule/Hours: Full-time, evening shifts of 8 or 10 hours, Monday to Friday with on-call shifts, primarily overnight, approximately 5-8 call slots and 1-2 weekends in an 8-week schedule. Call hours vary based on staffing, with a requirement to arrive within 30 minutes. Key Responsibilities: Create and maintain a clean, safe, and effective surgical area. Use aseptic techniques to prepare materials, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures. Manage the operating environment, ensuring efficient setup for each procedure. Act as a Second Assistant when necessary. Communicate promptly with appropriate staff regarding equipment and supply issues. Transport patients, equipment, and supplies effectively. Maintain specialty inventory carts for completeness and sterility. Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to adapt care based on patient age. Education & Certification Requirements: Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 6 months of employment if needed. Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment. Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, lifting 20 lbs above head, and carrying up to 40 lbs. Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs of force and perform sliding transfers with assistance. Exposure to various hazards and requires proper use of personal protective equipment.
