Description We are looking for a skilled Accounting Clerk to support financial operations for a company based in Rye Brook, New York. This contract position requires strong analytical capabilities and attention to detail, with a focus on financial reconciliation and database accuracy. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting processes and advanced Excel functions to ensure precise and efficient management of financial data. Responsibilities: - Perform reconciliations for accounts, databases, and financial statements to ensure accuracy. - Process invoices and handle accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) tasks. - Utilize advanced Excel functions, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and Sum If formulas, to analyze and manage data. - Conduct variance analysis and identify discrepancies in financial records. - Review and audit balance sheets and income statements for accuracy and compliance. - Perform detailed data entry and maintain organized financial records. - Assist with consolidating databases and preparing reconciled reports. - Analyze financial statements and provide insights into expense and commission trends. - Collaborate with teams to ensure timely completion of reconciliation processes. - Work with insurance-related financial data and commissions, leveraging relevant industry knowledge. Requirements - Proven experience in accounting, with a focus on reconciliation processes. - Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel functions, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs. - Familiarity with financial statement audits, including balance sheets and income statements. - Previous experience in an insurance agency accounting environment is preferred. - Strong attention to detail and ability to identify variances in financial data. - Knowledge of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes. - Experience with database consolidation and reconciliation. - Excellent organizational and analytical skills to manage and interpret financial information.
