We want your knowledge and expertise Job Summary and Qualifications The Paralegal is responsible for working at the direction of the AVP and/or Manager of The Denial Escalation and Legal Resolution Department and provides legal support to the department. What you will do in this role: * Prepares informational responses and arbitration packets for submission Independent Dispute Resolution Entities in connection with the No Surprises Act under the supervision of Dispute Resolution Counsel. * Reviews contracts and drafts demand letters under direction of Payment Compliance Counsel, AVP and/or Manager of Department. * Contacts insurance companies or their designated third party administrator (in writing, telephonically and/or electronically) to escalate and resolve claim payments for denied accounts pursued by the Denial Escalation and Legal Resolution Department. * Becomes proficient in utilizing tools to track legal collection activities and prepare reports as requested by Counsel. * Works assigned matters and updates notes in various computer systems. * Conducts legal research under the direction of Counsel. * Acts as a team player, accepting job responsibilities willingly and proactively initiates assistance to other legal team members. What qualifications you will need: * Paralegal Degree from an accredited institution or Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred. Equivalent work experience may substitute for the degree preference. * Minimum four years of legal, collections and/or healthcare experience required. * Health Insurance Experience Preferred * Paralegal Certificate Required in states that license Paralegals, Preferred in other states.
