Overview

We are a growing, two doctor small animal practice in Sparks, NV looking to add a Licensed Veterinary Technician or VTIT to our team. We love to learn, and we strive for excellence in patient care. We are looking for an individual who is detail oriented, compassionate, hard-working, and thrives under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures
  • Perform diagnostic tests, including blood work and X-rays
  • Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian
  • Monitor and maintain the health of animals in our care
  • Provide nursing care to patients
  • Educate pet owners on proper animal care and husbandry practices
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
  • Ensure a clean and safe environment for all animals, adhering to aseptic techniques
  • Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and procedures using fear free techniques as needed

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal anatomy
  • Experience with animal handling, including dog handling and restraint techniques
  • Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures related to veterinary dentistry
  • Background in animal husbandry, ensuring proper care for cats and dogs
  • Proficiency in animal catheterization techniques
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment while providing exceptional patient care
