Senior FP&A Leader

Location: Austin, TX OR Huntsville, AL (3 days/week in office)

Overview

We're partnering with a high-growth, multi-site defense electronics manufacturer seeking a Senior FP&A Leader to join their Austin-based team. This is a pivotal role within a PE-backed environment, offering direct exposure to private equity partners and senior leadership across engineering, operations, and program management.

You'll be stepping into a dynamic, hands-on environment where financial acumen and business partnership go hand in hand. The ideal candidate thrives on turning data into insight, driving performance, and providing the clarity leadership needs to make fast, informed decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead FP&A activities including forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis across multiple business units and sites
  • Partner closely with the VP of Finance and senior executives to drive strategic financial planning and performance improvement
  • Develop and refine P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet models to support decision-making and investor reporting
  • Implement scalable financial systems, reporting processes, and performance dashboards
  • Support M&A integration and PE-driven initiatives as the business continues to expand
  • Present financial insights clearly to executive and investor audiences

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of progressive experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
  • Background in defense, aerospace, or manufacturing preferred
  • Strong command of P&L, cash flow, and operational metrics
  • Excel superuser with advanced modeling and data visualization skills
  • Familiarity with FP&A or ERP systems (e.g., Adaptive, Anaplan, NetSuite, Deltek, or similar)
  • Confident communicator able to influence and present to senior leadership
  • Proven ability to perform under pressure in a fast-moving, high-accountability environment
