FP&A Analyst Opportunity – Austin, TX

A growing construction and industrial services company is looking for an FP&A Analyst to join its finance team. This role supports core financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and analytical work that helps leadership make informed operational and strategic decisions.

What You'll Do

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare monthly financial statements, cash flow summaries, and management reporting packages.
  • Support monthly close activities, including account reconciliations, intercompany activity, payroll allocations, prepaid schedules, and other balance sheet items.
  • Conduct variance analysis comparing results to plan, forecast, and prior periods.
  • Build and maintain financial models to support forecasting, scenario planning, and decision-making.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis such as ROI evaluations, lease-versus-buy modeling, trend analysis, and project-level financial reviews.
  • Assist with inventory-related reconciliations and periodic physical count processes as needed.
  • Maintain and update fixed asset schedules and depreciation records.

Compliance & Controls

  • Prepare supporting schedules, reconciliations, and documentation for annual audit requirements.
  • Partner with leaders across finance, accounting, and operations to ensure accuracy and alignment.
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive financial information.

Process Improvement & Team Collaboration

  • Identify opportunities to streamline reporting, strengthen controls, and improve data accuracy.
  • Introduce tools, automation, and best practices to enhance the efficiency of the FP&A function.
  • Support additional financial tasks and projects as the business evolves.

What You Bring

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in FP&A, financial reporting, audit, or general accounting.
  • Hands-on experience with
    SQL
    ,
    Power BI
    , and/or
    Tableau
    .
  • Strong comfort working with large data sets and building queries.
  • Working knowledge of financial statements and core accounting concepts.
  • Experience with ERP systems; construction-, manufacturing-, or project-based systems are a plus.
