The Role

We're looking for a
Founding CTO / Lead AI-AR Engineer
to architect and own the entire technical foundation of Opie Vision. You'll be responsible for connecting perception, reasoning, and overlay — building the system that makes AI
see, think, and guide
in the real world.

What You'll Do

  • Architect and build the
    Opie Vision MVP
    , integrating:
  • Unity-XR
    layer for AR overlay and interaction
  • YOLOv8
    +
    SAM2
    (Segment Anything) for real-time part detection
  • FastAPI
    backend for task reasoning and model inference
  • Whisper
    for speech-to-text + TTS voice interface
  • Design and own the core data pipeline for visual tasks and edge inference.
  • Lead technical strategy: make smart trade-offs between edge and cloud.
  • Build and manage an early technical team (AI, XR, backend).
  • Work directly with the Founder/CEO to align the product roadmap with the AI system design.
  • Contribute to pitch decks, MVP demos, and investor technical due diligence.

You Might Be a Fit If

  • You've shipped
    AI-powered AR or computer vision products
    (Unity, AR Foundation, ARKit/ARCore).
  • You've worked with
    real-time detection or segmentation
    models (YOLOv8, SAM2, Detectron2, etc.).
  • You know how to build
    clean, scalable backends
    (FastAPI, Node, or similar).
  • You understand
    model optimization for on-device inference
    (TensorRT, CoreML, etc.).
  • You've used or deployed
    OpenAI Whisper
    ,
    LLM APIs
    , or similar voice reasoning stacks.
  • You're comfortable leading architecture, mentoring engineers, and writing production code.
  • You want to
    own a company's tech brain
    , not just write code.
