Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly, reliable and motivated Front Counter Sales Associate to join our pool supply team. This role involves providing exceptional customer service, managing sales transactions, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for all customers. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, retail sales experience, and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently. Bilingual skills are a plus. This position offers an engaging environment where you can develop your sales and customer service skills while contributing to the store's success.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases at the front counter
  • Operate POS systems for sales transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
  • Upsell products and promote store specials to maximize sales opportunities
  • Conduct product demos to educate customers about features and benefits of items
  • Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring product availability
  • Assist with inventory management, including stock replenishment and inventory counts
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Perform basic retail math to handle transactions accurately and balance cash registers at shift end
  • Support team members with supervising responsibilities when needed, including training new staff or overseeing daily operations
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace adhering to store policies on safety and cleanliness

Requirements

  • Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in swimming pool supplies or similar store environments
  • Strong communication skills with excellent phone etiquette
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for cashiering and sales purposes
  • Experience with POS systems and cash handling procedures
  • Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve a diverse customer base
  • Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor

  • Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and product demos is beneficial
  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment and work well within a team
