Duties

  • Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding customer service to ensure a positive shopping experience
  • Assist customers in locating products and answer questions about features, benefits, and usage
  • Conduct product demonstrations to highlight key features and encourage purchases
  • Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for transactions including sales, returns, and exchanges
  • Handle cash, process credit/debit card payments, and perform cash handling duties with precision
  • Upsell complementary products and accessories to maximize sales opportunities
  • Maintain attractive merchandise displays through merchandising and stocking efforts
  • Manage inventory levels by restocking shelves and organizing stockroom items efficiently
  • Support store cleanliness and organization to ensure an inviting shopping environment

Skills

  • Proven experience in retail sales or customer service environments, preferably within grocery stores or similar retail settings
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse customers in bilingual settings if applicable
  • Familiarity with POS systems, cashiering procedures, and basic retail math for accurate transactions
  • Ability to perform upselling techniques confidently while maintaining genuine customer care
  • Experience conducting product demos and explaining features clearly and enthusiastically
  • Knowledge of merchandising principles to create appealing displays that attract shoppers
  • Stocking and inventory management skills to ensure shelves are well-stocked and organized
  • Basic math skills necessary for cash handling, pricing adjustments, and sales calculations
  • Customer service orientation with a friendly attitude and proactive problem-solving approach
