Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and compassionate Travel Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant with experience in Pulmonology to join our team and support patients in the Patient Health Management (PHM) program. As a Pulmonology Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive care to patients with respiratory conditions, including asthma, COPD, pneumonia, and other pulmonary disorders. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of patients while working alongside a dedicated team of healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough physical assessments and medical screenings of patients with pulmonary conditions
- Diagnose and treat common respiratory illnesses, including asthma, bronchitis, and pneumonia
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients, considering their medical history, current symptoms, and lifestyle factors
- Prescribe medications and therapies, such as inhalers, antibiotics, and pulmonary rehabilitation programs
- Educate patients and their families on the importance of proper disease management, medication adherence, and lifestyle modifications
- Perform diagnostic procedures, such as spirometry, chest X-rays, and arterial blood gas analysis
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary
- Travel regularly to multiple nursing homes within the designated region to deliver on-site care
- Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate facility visits and optimize patient coverage
- Minimum 6 months of experience in long-term care or a skilled nursing facility
- Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Physician license
- DEA License
- CPR BCLS/BLS certified
- Must hold a Master's Degree in Nursing
- Completed a degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- A year of experience in Pulmonology or respiratory care
- Preferred experience in Documenting EMR (Sigma, Visual, PCC, etc.): training provided
- Must have great organizational and time management skills
- Reliable transportation
- Must be willing to travel to different nursing homes within the state of Texas (100% commitment)
