Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper with expertise in QuickBooks Online to manage and maintain accurate financial records . The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of accounting principles, including GAAP, and have hands-on experience with various accounting software platforms. This role involves performing detailed bookkeeping tasks, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports to support business decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Perform full-cycle bookkeeping using QuickBooks Online
  • Record and reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank, and credit card transactions
  • Manage billing for hospice services, including Medicare/Medicaid and private insurance claims
  • Maintain general ledger and prepare journal entries
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and reports
  • Assist with budgeting, financial forecasting, and audit preparation
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP accounting principles and healthcare regulations
  • Collaborate with management and external accountants as needed

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of bookkeeping experience (hospice, home health, or healthcare setting preferred)
  • Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks Online (required)
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and double-entry bookkeeping
  • Billing experience for hospice, healthcare, or Medicare/Medicaid (required or preferred)
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and accuracy
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or Accountant with a strong focus on QuickBooks Online expertise
  • Extensive knowledge of corporate, non-profit.
  • Familiarity with accounting concepts such as GAAP, double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, bank reconciliation, and general ledger accounting
  • Experience working with multiple accounting software platforms including Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other financial software tools
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts related to account reconciliation, account analysis, budgeting, and technical accounting practices
  • Prior experience in handling accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, tax-related tasks, and financial report writing is highly desirable
  • Excellent organizational skills with proficiency in 10 key typing for data entry accuracy

This role requires a detail-oriented professional capable of managing complex financial data while maintaining accuracy and compliance. Candidates should demonstrate a solid understanding of accounting standards and possess the technical skills necessary to support diverse client needs effectively.
