Job Description:

As an R&D Engineer, you will lead the design and development of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Radio Frequency (RF) systems for medical devices, encompassing both hardware and software components while ensuring adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices. You will oversee the seamless integration and rigorous testing of BLE and RF subsystems, conducting system-level characterization to validate performance. In addition to providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers in a collaborative and innovative environment, you will manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure successful execution within budget. Your role will also involve analyzing and optimizing system performance, addressing challenges such as RF interference, signal integrity, and power consumption. You will be responsible for preparing comprehensive system architecture and design documentation, including block diagrams, flowcharts, and interface specifications. Furthermore, you will ensure all designs comply with FDA and ISO standards and contribute to the preparation and submission of regulatory documentation related to BLE telemetry system design.

Must have skills and experiences:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering and 3+ years of experience with RF/ BLE (radiofrequency or Bluetooth low energy) technologies
  • Proficiency in RF design, BLE protocols, signal processing, and medical device development.

Nice to have skills and experiences:

  • Experience with IoT devices and applications.
  • Knowledge of other wireless communication protocols (e.g., Wi-Fi, Zigbee).
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for wireless medical devices such as IEEE 11073, ISO 13485, and FDA guidelines.
