About the role:
Our R&D engineers are tasked with designing and developing implant products for the Active Implantable Systems (AIS) group. This includes technologies that monitor, support diagnosis and treat irregular heart rhythms, heart failure, and sudden cardiac arrest. AIS provides devices and therapies for a patient's entire continuum of care, from diagnostic to treatment. This division strives to innovate and create a paradigm shift that can solve unmet clinical needs and change what is possible for patients.
Your responsibilities will include:
Develop deep learning models to predict cardiac events using ECG and other physiological signalsApply signal processing techniques to clean, analyze, and interpret biosignals for device diagnostics and monitoringSupport the design of AI/ML algorithms that enhance implantable device performance and patient outcomesCollaborate with engineers to integrate Python-based tools for data analysis, simulation, and model validationContribute to feasibility studies exploring novel diagnostic features for heart rhythm and heart failure detectionAnalyze large datasets from implantable devices to identify patterns and inform next-generation therapy developmentWork closely with clinical, software, and hardware teams to ensure alignment between algorithm development and device capabilitiesRequired Qualifications:
Masters or Ph.D. student. Must have at least one semester of school left post-internship to qualify. Working towards a degree in Biomedical Engineering (EE emphasis), Electrical Engineering, or Data Science. Must be able to start internship on May 18th or 26th, 2026 and work for 12 weeks Must have reliable transportation to/from work. Experience using programming languages such as Python, Kotlin, or Java (Python used in this role)Experience with AI/ML and deep learning-based prediction model developmentExperience with testing-related projects in school or workPreferred Qualifications:

Minimum Salary: $ 42120
Maximum Salary: $ 71552
The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.
Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
