Genesis Marine is safe, reliable and efficient with the right equipment for the industry's marine transportation needs. We primarily serve refineries and storage terminals along the Gulf Coast, East Coast, Canada, Great Lakes, Intracoastal Canal and western river systems of the United States, including the Red, Ouachita and Mississippi Rivers on which Genesis has significant existing terminals.Genesis Marine owns and operates two fleets, inland and offshore, including approximately 130 vessels. Our state-of-the-art barges coupled with the best liquid cargo mariners make us the safest, most efficient carrier of inland, hot-oil cargoes.  Our inland fleet consists of approximately 82 barges and 33 push-boats and our offshore fleet consists of nine boats and nine barges and one ocean going tanker. We have a total design capacity of 2.3 mmbbl for Inland Marine Operations, 0.9 mmbbl for Offshore Marine Operations and 0.3 mmbbl for the M/T American Phoenix (ocean-going tanker).We provide a safe and competitive service, adhering to strict operating procedures which are designed to not only meet, but also exceed customer & regulatory requirements.****NOTE: This position works a rotating 7-days on / 7-days off schedule, including nights and weekends shift requirements****Key Duties:Facilitate the communication of information between Vessel and Shore side personnel including transmission of orders, gathering of traffic, coordination of dockside activities and resolution/notification of incidentsPrepare and communicate daily position reports to marine management along with any other pertinent information related to vessel activities or client specific requirementsCoordinate fuel/lube purchases for tugs as requestedAssist in supporting the operations group vessel requestsReview traffic for status accuracy, and potential problemsConfirm trip requirements are metAssist in the coordination of barge preparation (repairs, etc.)and boat repairs with Maintenance DepartmentCommunicate operational requirements or general concerns to Vessel Operations as neededCommunicate trip delays to sales team as neededAssist in the coordination of incidents and problem resolution as neededAssist in the management of incoming phone callsRequired Skills, Experience, and Education:High school diploma or equivalentOrganized, detail-oriented and accurateSelf-motivated, punctual, and capable of multi-taskingStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to prioritize and complete tasks promptlyStrong collaboration skillsAbility to work effectively in a team environmentBachelor's degree in Maritime Administration preferredMarine experience preferredGenesis Energy is an equal opportunity employer.
