Senior Tax Accountant (CPA) – Flagstaff, AZ

Salary: $90,000 – $100,000/year + overtime & bonuses

Job Type: Full-time

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee financial reporting, mentor junior staff, and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization. You will manage complex financial transactions, review tax returns, and ensure compliance with GAAP while fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee preparation and analysis of financial statements and tax returns (1040/1120/1120S/1041/1065/990)
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Review budgets, forecasts, and financial reports prepared by staff
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Mentor and train junior accounting staff
  • Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency
  • Provide financial insights for decision-making

Requirements

  • Bachelors in accounting or finance with CPA License
  • 5+ years of accounting/finance experience
  • Proficient in financial statement preparation and analysis
  • Strong understanding of debits, credits, and general ledger
  • Experience with small business and nonprofit accounting
  • Excellent computer, communication, and analytical skills
  • Must live in Flagstaff or be willing to relocate
