Overview
The Head of School is a pivotal leadership role responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the school. This position requires a dynamic leader who is passionate about education and committed to fostering an environment that promotes academic excellence, personal growth, and community engagement. The Head of School will work closely with faculty, staff, students, and parents to ensure that the school's mission and vision are effectively implemented.
Duties
- Provide visionary leadership and strategic planning to advance the school's mission.
- Oversee curriculum development to ensure high-quality educational programs.
- Manage daily operations of the school, including budgeting and resource allocation.
- Supervise faculty and staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Engage in public speaking engagements to represent the school within the community.
- Develop and implement fundraising initiatives to support school programs and projects.
- Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and the broader community.
- Monitor student progress and implement strategies for academic improvement.
- Uphold a positive school culture that encourages student engagement and well-being.
Requirements
- Ethical and dependable. Enthusiastic and energetic.
- A love of children, and passion for teaching.
- Proven experience in leadership roles within an educational setting.
- A proactive and creative problem solver.
- Strong skills in strategic planning and budgeting.
- Montessori accreditation a plus, commitment to obtaining accreditation required.
- Experience in structured child development and assessment practices.
- Excellent public speaking abilities to effectively communicate with diverse audiences.
- Experience working directly with students in various capacities.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise staff effectively while promoting professional growth.
- Experience in fundraising efforts to enhance school resources
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Knowledgable of Kentucky Childcare Rules and Regulations
- Enthusiastically serve as the "face" of MKU Louisville School, managing communication with parents and the community.
- Directly responsible for selling the value of the MKU to increase enrollments. Responsible for following up on inquiries, scheduling appointments, conducting tours and tour follow ups using ChildCare CRM.
- Leadership through a positive, honest and transparent management style.
- Ability to conduct individual coaching, performance improvement reviews and create individual professional development plans.
This role is ideal for an individual who is dedicated to educational excellence and has a strong desire to make a positive impact on students' lives.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55, $70,000.00 per year
