DeRomo's Gourmet Market & Restaurant is a popular, busy, authentic Italian marketplace in Bonita Springs. We are currently seeking a Cashier to join our Market Team. We're looking for passionate people to join our family and grow with us.

Cashiers greet customers as well as answer questions about products, their location in the store, services or other company policies and procedures. Cashiers accept payments from customers in the form of cash, credit or debit card, check or other forms of payment. They are the front line of customer interaction.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Greet and interact with customers in a timely, friendly manner
  • Process sales transactions
  • Calculate the cost of products or services
  • Accept payments
  • Calculate and return change when required by the payment method
  • Maintain adequate change denominations in the cash drawer and request additional change
  • Answer customer questions about products or services
  • Reconcile cash drawers and sales receipts
  • Report issues with equipment
  • Ability to calculate sales and make change quickly
  • Accountability and accuracy in reconciling sales receipts
  • Excellent customer-service and people skills

Our compensation package for Full-Time associates includes a competitive hourly rate, medical, dental, vision, STD/LTD, Life, 401k with match, Paid Time Off after 90 Days, dining and travel discounts, special offers from our business partners, and discount programs for selected cell phone providers.

Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, And Abilities

  • High school diploma or GED
  • The ability to work as a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Communicate in English both written and verbal skills
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of point-of-sale (POS) systems, preferred
  • Polite and courteous
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Flexible work schedule availability.
  • Ability to multitask
  • Phone etiquette and exceptional customer service skills
