Duties

  • Assist in the preparation of meals by chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients according to recipes and specifications.
  • Ensure all food items are prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper storage of ingredients.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service during restaurant operations.
  • Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist in ordering as needed.
  • Follow proper sanitation practices while handling food items and cleaning kitchen equipment.
  • Support the culinary team with any additional tasks as required to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Skills

  • Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations within the food industry.
  • Experience in meal preparation or working as a cook in an Assisted Living Facility or a restaurant or catering environment is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and preparation.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining quality standards.
  • Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with other kitchen staff.
  • A passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn new cooking techniques and recipes.
