Job Overview

The Early Learning Inclusion Manager (ELIM) supports the Center Directors, Coordinators of Education, and teachers to ensure full implementation of all aspects of AVANCE's early learning system, policies/procedures, and tools, with the goal of supporting all children to achieve School Readiness Goals.

Job Responsibilities

  • Promotes and models the organization's Core Values.
  • Ensures overall program is in full compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, State Licensing Regulations, Texas Rising Star, NAEYC (as appropriate).
  • Supports Center Directors in coaching and mentoring of teaching staff, including administering CLASS and other teacher performance tools reliably.
  • Coaches Center Directors to effectively work with Teachers in an ongoing manner and facilitate monthly professional learning communities related to curriculum planning and assessment data.
  • Assists center staff in implementing early learning curriculum with fidelity.
  • Provides consistent, on-going consultation to teaching staff to support differentiated instruction for children with an Individualized Education Program (IEP), Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) or with challenging behaviors.
  • Ensures timely identification, referral, identified services and transition support for children with disabilities according to IDEA standards.
  • Contributes to ongoing and regularly scheduled recruitment of children with disabilities.
  • Applies expertise in on-going, performance-based assessment systems to support the center directors and teachers in understanding child outcomes data and using results to plan and individualize instruction.
  • Tracks child outcomes and program quality assessment data across classrooms and centers, analyzes data, and makes program development recommendations based on the analysis in collaboration with the Director of Analytics and the Assistant Director of ECE.
  • Assists early learning team in planning and implementing comprehensive, differentiated, and sequential professional development for early learning staff.
  • Partners with teaching staff to support curriculum planning and implementation, as well as child assessment data analysis and application of data, to individualize action plans.
  • Serves as an education lead to assist the Center Director or Coordinator of Education in overseeing implementation of all aspects of education services, providing teachers with coaching, training, and monitoring using CLASS, a teacher success rubric and other teaching performance tools.
  • Coordinates with the Family Engagement team to ensure full parent involvement in the program.
  • Ensures the completion of all required child screenings and assessments, including 45 and 90-day requirements for new children and quarterly progress assessments for all children.
  • Assists in the interviewing, on-boarding, coaching, and training of teaching staff.
  • Supports for Educational Quality & Positive Child Outcomes
  • Supports Center Directors in coaching related to educational quality, including fidelity of curriculum, utilizing a consultative model to implement and meet AVANCE's goals.
  • Acts as the lead coach for teachers and teams, as needed.
  • Provides feedback to teachers and Center Directors in all areas of educational quality, including but not limited to:

  • Learning environments

  • Working with families
  • Professional growth and collaboration
  • Works with Center Directors and Coordinators of Education to create and maintain quality improvement plans; identify and obtain resources to support Center Directors and Coordinators of Education in successfully executing quality improvement.
  • Stays current in the program's curriculum model(s) and consistently supports fidelity of implementation, including engagement in curriculum planning meetings and on-going assessment system(s).
  • Provides coverage for Center Director roles when needed.
  • Frequently visits the centers to provide support to Center Directors in the operation of the centers/classrooms.
  • Assists Assistant Director of Early Childhood Education or Zone Director in planning and implementing comprehensive, differentiated, and sequential professional development for education staff (provide data and individual information regarding assigned centers).
  • Assists Assistant Director Early Childhood Education or Zone Director in collaborating and coordinating within the education team and across service areas and initiatives (Family Services, Mental Health & Disabilities, Health, and Nutrition).
  • Assists in the interviewing and onboarding of teaching staff, Center Directors, and Coordinators of Education.
  • Assists with providing on-the-job training to new hires.
  • Participates in leadership activities and meetings, as appropriate.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities

Record Keeping and Reporting

  • Maintains documentation of monitoring, coaching, and training activities, adhering to AVANCE existing systems as applicable.
  • Completes regular reports on area activities and progress toward goals with recommended modifications to plans and submits to supervisor as scheduled.

Requirements:

Education

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education OR Bachelor's degree in related field with at least six (6) courses in early childhood education and experience teaching preschool-aged children OR state awarded preschool teaching certification with experience teaching preschool-aged children

Certification

Preferred:

  • CLASS Certification (or ability to become certified within 12 months from date of placement in the ELIM role)

Work Experience

Required:

  • Previous experience supervising/coaching in an early childhood setting

Additional Skills Required

  • First Aid and CPR training.
  • Knowledge in Special Education/Inclusion Advanced skills using Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Excellent presentation, writing, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
  • Highly resourceful team player, with the ability to be extremely effective independently and manage numerous simultaneous projects.
  • Forward-looking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Spanish fluency is helpful, but not required.
  • Ability to travel to various training sites; dependable transportation required on-a- daily basis with a valid driver's license, a clean driving record (subject to annual MVR check and policy), current auto liability insurance and be bondable by AVANCE, San Antonio, Inc.
