Responsibilities
Kforce is immediately seeking an experienced DevOps/Automation Engineer in support of our enterprise telecommunications and mass media client based in Charlotte, NC. Summary: The team is redefining how infrastructure is delivered and managed - automating provisioning, standardizing CI/CD pipelines, and driving the shift from traditional on-prem environments toward internal cloud (Bluecloud) and AWS. The ideal candidate is a hands-on automation engineer with deep experience in Infrastructure such as Code, Linux, and cloud platforms, ready to contribute to a high-impact modernization effort. Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure automation and provisioning processes
- Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using a centralized platform (transitioning to Specflow 2)
- Support ongoing migration efforts from on-prem infrastructure to internal cloud (Bluecloud) and AWS environments
- Contribute to the transition toward Redshift and related cloud data platforms (confidential initiative)
- Manage and evolve portions of AWS responsibilities previously owned by other infrastructure teams
- Integrate telemetry solutions into automation frameworks
- Maintain and modernize some legacy VMware provisioning as automation expands
- Collaborate closely with development and infrastructure teams to ensure scalable, reliable, and repeatable deployments
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or related automation-focused roles
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines - ideally GitLab, but Jenkins or similar tools are acceptable
- Solid Linux administration experience
- Experience supporting both on-prem and cloud-based (private or public) environments
- Strong background in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred; CloudFormation acceptable)
- Proficiency in YAML for configuration management and automation scripting
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience with Ansible (team standard)
- Previous experience integrating telemetry or monitoring solutions
- Scripting in Python and/or PowerShell
- Familiarity with JSON and XML data formats
- Exposure to VMware provisioning and automation
- Understanding of database environments (Teradata experience a plus)
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
