Overview

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Freight Sales Representative to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales growth by developing and maintaining relationships with clients in the logistics and transportation sectors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, transportation management, and B2B sales, with a proven ability to negotiate contracts and manage accounts effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets within the freight and logistics market.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through effective customer relationship management.
  • Identify new business opportunities through lead generation and networking within the industry.
  • Manage accounts by providing exceptional service, addressing client needs, and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Negotiate pricing and contracts with carriers to secure competitive rates for clients.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations (including FDA regulations), and best practices in logistics sales.
  • Develop New Business: Identify and pursue intermodal sales opportunities through prospecting, cold calling, networking, and leveraging existing relationships in the transportation industry with multi-level contacts, and be able to meet clients face to face.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of supply chain management principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and CRM software for effective account management.
  • Experience in B2B sales with a focus on logistics or freight services.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to close deals effectively.
  • Knowledge of 3PL (Third Party Logistics) operations and NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) regulations is a plus.
  • Familiarity with logistics sales processes, including pricing strategies, contracts, and lead generation techniques.
  • Ability to find new clients by cold calling or meeting in person.
