Responsibilities:

(100%)* Submits new electronic and paper insurance claims. Performs follow up on outstanding insurances balances including contacting the insurance company and utilization of the internet. Makes appropriate decisions regarding the status of an account utilizing carrier specific billing knowledge. �

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reviews outstanding physician insurance claims on a timely basis.

�

Processes additional billings as required to obtain maximum payment on account.

�

Responds to correspondence appropriate to area of responsibility.

�

Communicates effectively with other department staff to resolve insurance billing issues.

�

Maintains accuracy of insurance and patient account status.

�

Understands payer billing requirements.

�

Resolve credit balances.

�

Performs other miscellaneous related duties.

Required Education:

Education: HIGH

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND SKILLS:

Good written and oral communication skills.

One year experience in a computerized medical setting.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as, trauma, grief and death.

Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position.

Is able to move freely about facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description.

Overall vision and hearing is necessary with or without assisted device(s).
