Position Summary:

The Accounting Specialist supports the Finance Department in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing payroll, processing accounts payable and receivable, and assisting with month-end reporting. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial data.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and maintain accurate financial documentation.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Verify the accuracy of transactions involved with A/R and A/P with company policies.
  • Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and reports.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with GAAP and company procedures.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency within the department.
  • Collaborate with management and field teams to ensure accurate financial tracking across store locations.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

Experience:

  • 2–5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience (internships included).

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.

Work Environment:

  • This position is in-office at the corporate headquarters in Metro Atlanta.
  • Standard business hours, Monday through Friday.
  • Occasional extended hours may be required during reporting periods.
