The Shelborne will introduces four vibrant new food & beverage destinations to the neighborhood, each suited for warm weather dining, with an all-day signature restaurant, a lobby bar- lounge, and curated cafe. Resort amenities include a spacious pool and lush garden lounge, indoor-outdoor cabanas, sundeck terrace, state-of-the-art fitness center, dedicated access to a private beach club, and more than 15,000 square feet of indoor-outdoor meeting & event space.

Job Summary: 

As a Night Auditor, you will play a critical role in supporting the front office team during overnight shifts. Your primary responsibility will be to audit, balance, and reconcile the day's financial transactions while providing exceptional guest service. You will be the main point of contact for guests during late hours, ensuring their needs are met while maintaining the hotel's operational standards. This role requires attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a quiet, late-night environment.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities 

• Night Audit & Financial Reconciliation:
  1. Perform the daily night audit function, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded, balanced, and posted to the hotel's financial systems.
  2. Reconcile guest accounts, ensuring accuracy in charges, payments, and billing adjustments.
  3. Review reports and logs to verify transactions such as room charges, guest payments, and charges to the hotel's amenities and services.
  4. Ensure that all revenue and financial data is accurately reflected in daily reports.
  5. Prepare and distribute end-of-day financial reports for management review.
• Guest Service & Assistance:
  1. Provide front desk services to guests during the night, including check-ins, check-outs, and responding to guest inquiries.
  2. Handle guest complaints, requests, and concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  3. Offer assistance with room keys, special accommodations, and any other requests from guests staying overnight.
  4. Act as the point of contact for emergency situations, following hotel policies for handling any incidents.
• Guest Billing & Payment Processing:
  1. Ensure that guest accounts are billed correctly, including charges for room rates, services, and incidentals.
  2. Process payments from guests, including cash, credit, or debit transactions, and accurately record them in the system.
  3. Prepare invoices and handle special billing requests, ensuring they align with hotel policies.
• Communication & Coordination:
  1. Maintain open communication with the day shift team to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of guest service.
  2. Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and security teams to address any overnight issues or requests.
  3. Document any significant issues or events during the shift for management follow-up.

Education and/or Experience 

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in a hotel or customer service role is preferred.
• Experience with hotel property management systems (e.g., InforHMS, Opera, or similar) is a plus.
• Previous night audit or accounting experience is highly preferred.

Skills/Specialized Knowledge

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reconciliation.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with guests and team members.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced, quiet, and sometimes solitary work environment.
• Basic accounting skills and understanding of hotel financial operations.
• Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to resolve guest issues independently.

Physical Demands

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds (e.g., paperwork, guest items).
• Frequent use of hands, fingers, and wrists for typing, handling check-in materials, and operating the phone or computer systems.
